Part one of the assigment was to do body and eyes only. Part two is now about  doing facial expressions and lip syncing. Once again it is all about the planning. Which means thumb sketches. This time it was focusing on the facial expressions and mouth only. Below are my sketches showing my thought process working out various ideas for the shot.

Here is the final video clip for this assigment.  If you watch the class 4 version before hand you can clearly see what a difference the facial expressions make. This clip cuts out for some reason at the very end.

Face Studies

Class 5 has started off on a high energy vibe! I hope to keep the momentum up. I am working on part two of my face animation. During that time AM has us working on facial study exorcises. We have to find a photo with a close up on the facial expression. Then we do our best to match the model Bishop to have the same said expression. It really is a good way to learn what the Bishop facial controls are or are not capable of doing. Below are some of the assignments for week 1 through 8.

First Day of Class

First day of class was a riot. My mentor is Mark Pullyblank. He works at Weta in New Zeland. Because of his location the class started at 11pm at night my time zone.  Much later than I like to have. In the back of my mind I was even thinking of heading over to the AM message board where you post to trade classes. Within the first few minutes I knew I was staying. He does a great job of teaching and being entertaining. It makes going to class a blast each week.
